Dried red currant pomace (dried pomace or ground to the fraction ordered)

Product obtained from washed, crushed, squeezed red currants, which are then dried, in accordance with the requirements of the European feed safety standard GMP+ and ISO 9001. Next, the obtained dried product is sieved and ground and then packed into individual packages. The dried product has about < 14% moisture. After removing moisture, cooling, the pomace is packed in paper bags or big bags depending on the customer’s needs, and then the product is transferred to storage facilities. Dried red currant pomace has a total protein content of 12-15%, crude fiber level of 29-31%, dietary fiber fraction: NDF 48.78%, ADF 40.12%, ADF 17.66%, ether extract approx. 2.0-3.0% and ash max 3%, minerals: calcium 1.48%, magnesium 2.04%, potassium 3.2%, assimilable phosphorus 1.02%, Na 0.08%. In comparison with wheat bran, this feed has a slightly higher nutritional value in terms of the content of the basic nutrients listed. The content of limited amino acids, including methionine and lysine, is higher than the level of these amino acids in bran. However, when considering the chemical composition of fruit pomace, attention should be paid to the high content of nitrogen-free extractive compounds in the form of sugars, pectins and organic acids, flavonoids and vitamins compared to other ingredients. Due to the composition of the dietary fiber fraction, the product is recommended for older animals as a valuable source of fiber and flavonoid compounds.
